This is a very small stable petrified opalized wood limb cast specimen
which was collected by hand digging with
permission on a private claim in Virgin Valley, Nevada. This specimen is a limb branch and is petrified wood with some white non colored opal replacement. The petrified opalized wood from this location tends to be lighter weight and less dense then regular petrified wood and is a little more delicate. This specimen of Virgin Valley petrified opalized wood has been slightly rounded and lightly polished on one face and also polished on the side where a knot is.
