** A neat limb from the same locality as the cones we have sold over the past few years.  We are unable to get a good taxonomic determination on this specimen because we think it would not benefit by cutting off an end to examine the wood anatomy.
The exterior has preserved some outstanding wood grain character and one side shows interior longitudinal wood grain along a weathered portion of the limb - see photos 2 and 3.  If you have one of those cones in your collection this is a great opportunity to get a limb section to accompany it in your display cabinet.  It measures 1.5
” x 1” on the transverse face and is 4.5” in length.
