    Description

    This listing features a very large specimen of a 1/3 round log of petrified agatized and jasperized wood replacement originating from Hampton Butte in Central Oregon approximately 60 miles East of Bend! The exterior of the specimen shows a clear cast of orange jasperized wood growth structure and round ring structure. The specimen preserves the structure of the wood showing radial medullary rays running perpendicular to the concentric rings! It has a smooth, light desert patina typical of most specimens recovered from Hampton Butte. The log wood replacement specimen, being primarily jasper with a few areas of translucent agate, weighs approximately 10 pounds and measures 188mm by 148mm by 126mm. The piece lays perfectly
    on any side
    for display. All photographs taken while the specimen was wet excluding the final two photographs which show the fossil wood while dry. I will combine shipping for multiple purchases as long as the specimens can be packaged in a manner that minimizes the potential for damage.
