This listing features a visually pleasing non-cut specimen of highly agatized and very captivating Petrified Wood originating from the Grassy Mountain area, a widely deposited agate bed in Malheur County of Eastern Oregon! The well preserved fossil wood displays beautiful coloration with wood grain structure in bright vivid colors typical of the Grassy Mountain deposits in highly translucent agate! The extraordinary and large fossil wood shows evidence of natural water worn erosion and exposure to long-term blowing desert sands giving the specimen a naturally shining, polished look and feel about the entirety of the specimen; it is a true ventifact fossil with a spectacular patina that is pleasing visually and in hand! One natural face shows evidence of black dendritic plumes within the agate! The fossil wood weighs 7 pounds 3.1 ounces and measures 208mm by 157mm by 108mm. All photos taken while the petrified wood was wet excluding the final two photographs which show the specimen while dry.
